[edit] Basics

To start off, you must get yourself an adept set. An adept set will give you additional skill EXP when you use an ability. Get a set with +3 skill EXP at the least, don't settle for +2 skill EXP since the more skill EXP you get the faster you will acquire ranks. Additionally, buy adept rings and an adept amulet. If you are level 70+ than you can buy a bracelet that also grants you additional skill EXP.

The best way to skill fast is to use a combo. If you execute longer combos, than you use more skills in a shorter time, thus you earn more skill EXP. Find monsters that are durable enough to handle a couple of your attacks but weak enough not to do major damage to you in your adept suit. Those mobs won't give you too much normal EXP, so you won't have to worry about monsters becoming stronger.

Until you are level 50 always use skills and combos and never use "normal attack".

Hopefully, when you will be level 50 you will have your skill rank around expert.

[edit] Port Lux Instructor

When you are level 50, go to the Port Lux instructor. You better ask for help from a higher level player since he is not located in town and the mobs on the way to him are strong. The map below will show you his location.

When you are there buy one of the Change Force upgrade skills. Make sure you have the money and an open upgrade slot. If you want to level up your sword ranks then buy Magic to Sword. If you want magic then purchase Sword to Magic and If you want to level up both sword and magic don't buy either skill, but it will also be two times slower.

[edit] Update About the CABAL North American version 2.3 Patch

The new patch for OGPlanet's CABAL North America will allow you to purchase Change Force skills on any instructor under Upgrade Skills, not just the Port Lux instructor, provided your character has reached expert skill level.

Note: In the European Version you cant buy change force anymore because of the update in December '09.

[edit] Acquiring Skill Ranks

Remove all your weapons (Swords/Orbs, etc) and go attack low level monsters. Attack them with fists and WITH "normal attack". (Make sure you have auto-attack option checked in your options)

Low level monsters are monsters that give you more than 0 EXP per hit, and you can fight without them hurting you.

You can also buy some low level weapons, like a basic katana and use it. With those you can use buffs which help you damage the mobs.

With this method you better use the "window mode" of the game and while you are killing the monsters you can surf the web or do something else.

When you kick low level monsters with fists or weak weapons it takes about 2 minutes to kill each monster and you get good skill EXP because skill EXP is how many times you hit it but almost NO regular EXP.

This guide is written by one person and his experiences with it. This is not the fastest way to attain skill ranks, but this is a way to do it without watching your screen all the time. You can basically do other things while acquiring skill points.

If you want to owned high lvl players who just know how to do quest and etc. I will share you the ways how me and my friend grinded our characters without the use of bots and other 3rd party programs with this just 1 step.

Settings: a. window mode b. auto attack

Step 1: Just punch with 1 exp  : Just punch with 1 exp Start punching at lvl 1 (punch mobs who has 1 exp when you punch it)

So when you do this this is the estimated skill rank you have when you attained a certain level:

This is both Sword & Magic

• Lvl 6 - Apprentice
• Lvl 8 - Regular
• Lvl 12 or 13 - expert
• Lvl 15 - a.expert
• Lvl 18 - master
• Lvl 20 - a.master
• Lvl 22 - g.master
• Lvl 25 - completer

Note: Put the stats first to gain higher armor. At level 15 you can wear adept so after lvl 15 the skill grinding is faster.

Important: If you don't have the perseverance to do this. Don't dare to do it!

This data is from my friends character.

My data with punching 1-10 exp with (combo, aura, battle mode and couple of quest)

There are a couple more ways to skill grind more efficiently.

[edit] Low-level Mob Skill Grind

It is also possible to gain optimal skill experience at lower levels by using the lowest level skills at Level 1, using the training weapons all characters start with. Whenever you use those skills on mobs 10 or more levels higher, you will get roughly 0-20 EXP (except for boss mobs like Highzards or Moscutter+), but you are getting the full skill EXP from using the skill. Here are some recommended skilling mobs for every 10 levels:

• LV 1-10 - Nipperlugs/Garlies/Mantises
• LV 11-20 - Lynxhorns/Desert Foxes/Troglos
• LV 21-30 - Zombies/Giant Snakes/Bugzards
• LV 31-40 - Lynxhorn Zombies/Armakus/Pantherhorns
• LV 41-50 - Skeletons/Mummies/Giant or Huge Spiders
• LV 51-60 - Hound Zombies/Architeryx/Moscutters

[edit] Normal Gameplay Skill Grind

You can also skill grind while doing quests normally, provided that you are doing the main storyline quests, and not anything listed on the "Normal Quests" category. You will get EXP for doing quests and grinding to the next level, but if you are using your lowest level skills at LV1, even on your level's mob sets, you will still get a fairly good amount of Skill EXP compared to a quest-monger. With this method, it is possible to get at least Completer by LV65.

For pure skill classes, namely Pure Sword classes (Warriors and Bladers) and Pure Magic classes (Wizards and Force Archers), it is better to concentrate on skilling your main skill category, rather than punching for both. Just make sure Change Force is bought upon reaching Transcender on the main skill.

For hybrid skill classes, it is much harder to skill since they utilize both skill sets. There are 2 ways to skill hybrids. One is alternate between using sword and magic skills to have an even leveling. Another is to max a skill set and purchase a Change Force skill.

[edit] Final Notes

On contrary to popular belief, punching is not always the best way to skill grind. When you're punching, your bonus EXP is capped at +10. If you are wearing a complete Adept Set including rings and amulets, you are missing out on a minimum of +10 skill EXP on a +2 Skill Adept Set. Punching is meant for low level skill grinding, and low-level skill use is most effective at higher levels when wearing +3 Skill EXP Adept Sets.

Also, when using the skill spam method, remember that higher level skills will give you more skill EXP than lower level skills. I've tested this using Power Slash and Force Stab when grinding on my LV7 Dual App FS. It took 3 LV1 Power Slashes to move my Sword bar, while it only took 2 LV9 Force Stabs. I'm currently using LVL6 Magic Arrow and LVL9 Force Stab to skill on Nipperlugs. The LVL6 Magic Arrow will hit for near death, while leaving enough HP to let me use Force Stab.

I've also noticed that LV9 Impact Stab is NOT the fastest way to skill. With my 58 FS, at A.Master and full +3 Skill Adept set and adept jewelry, I had to do 3 Impact Stabs compared to 2 Rising Shots.
